In 2006 I was contacted by the producers of the Living TV programme "Most Haunted" to ask if I would be interested in working as a guest medium for an episode to be filmed in Cumbria.
Following an audition and selection process I was delighted to be asked to work on the programme which was filmed in late October at Brougham Hall near Penrith.
Brougham Hall was known as the Windsor of the North by the Victorians and the site of Brougham Hall has been home to a fortified dwelling since 1307, although there's evidence of Roman occupation in the area and a nearby stone circle could date back far further.
Poltergeist activity is rife with reports of glasses flying from shelves and taps turning themselves on. Loud bangs and light flashes have been seen frequently and there are even tales of a cursed skull which would cause havoc to ensue if removed from the property. It was eventually walled up in an unknown part of the building to prevent it's loss.
Working on such a large scale production obviously was slightly nerve wracking but Yvette and the team were lovely to meet and work with.
I enjoyed filming with the team and some outstanding phenomena was captured. The programme was first broadcast on January 23rd 2007 as part of "Most Haunted" Series 9.
